If there’s a friendly giant in Steven Spielberg's adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel The BFG, he hasn’t shown his face yet. Disney released the first teaser for the new film.

The BFG is actually the first time Disney has co-produced a Spielberg film. Although DreamWorks productions, including this fall’s Bridge of Spies, have been released by Disney, the studio isn’t directly involved in those. Obviously, with this being a film targeted towards family audiences, Disney wanted to get in on it.

The teaser shows off newcomer Ruby Barnhill, who plays the young girl working with The Big Friendly Giant to stop man-eating giants. The title role is played by Mark Rylance, who has earned acclaim for his role in Bridge of Spies.

The BFG was adopted by Melissa Mathison, who also wrote E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial. Mathison died in November at age 65.

The BFG opens on July 1, 2016.
