Former spokesman for Subway restaurants, Jared Fogle, has been transferred to a federal prison in the state of Colorado.
The Associated Press noted that Fogle was moved to the low-security Federal Correctional Institution Englewood outside of Denver. His lawyers requested that he be housed there to receive psychological treatment.
As we previously reported, Fogle plead guilty to possessing child pornography and having sex with minors last August and was given a 15-year-sentence. However, earlier this week his attorneys filed a notice to appeal that sentence in U.S. District Court.
Prosecutors had asked for a sentence of 12.5 years but the 15-year-sentence imposed on him and lifetime supervision ordered after his release, gave him grounds to appeal. As part of his plea deal, he cannot appeal the conviction only the length of his sentence since it is longer than 12 years and seven months.
Fogle will join another infamous face at the prison in former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who is also an inmate there.
