In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris last month, France has been taking several precautions to protect its borders and now in a major crackdown, have shut down three mosques.

The Huffington Post noted that on Wednesday French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve announced the closure of three mosques. Law enforcement officials said they shut down a mosque in Lyon and two near Paris over fears of radicalization taking place there.

Local media reports have said that in one mosque authorities found a firearm, a hard drive hidden behind a wall and jihadist propaganda. Police believe that Mohammed Hammoumi, who ran the mosque before fleeing to Egypt earlier this year, may have used the place of worship as a location to radicalize Muslims from Syria. Investigators say that many of his pupils have already joined ISIS.

The entire country of France is still under a State of Emergency as it is left reeling from the Nov. 13 terror attacks that killed more than 120 people.
