Parrotheads are going to take over Broadway. A jukebox musical featuring Jimmy Buffett’s songs will be opening in 2017. You can bet that “Margaritaville” will be prominently featured.

The musical will be produced by Frank Marshall, Anita Waxman and Beth Williams. Greg Garcia and Mike O’Malley are writing an original story and Christopher Ashley (Leap of Faith), reports Deadline.

“The idea of turning Margaritaville into a musical has been percolating for quite a while, but finding the right people to tell the right kind of story to go with the right songs from my catalogue took some time,” Buffett said in a statement to the Associated Press. “Now we have found our crew and I am happy to sail with them to Margaritaville. It's going to be a fun voyage.”

Aside from “Margaritaville,” Buffett’s other hits include “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “A Pirate Looks At Forty,” “Volcano” and “Son Of A Son Of A Sailor.” He also owns the Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant chain.
