Justin Bieber must be having a mixed Christmas. While his new album Purpose hit 1 million copies sold, the album hasn’t been able to get out from under Adele’s shadow since 25 was released.

Billboard said this morning that Purpose has become Bieber’s fifth album to hit 1 million copies sold. It reached 1.01 million copies sold during the past week with another 100,000 copies sold. It only took five weeks for the record to hit that mark.

Purpose is only the third album of 2015 to hit 1 million copies. The other two are Adele’s 25 and Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.

Purpose debuted at No. 1 on Dec. 5, but Adele has owned the top spot for the past four weeks. On the chart ending on Dec. 17, 25 actually sold more copies than the previous week.

During 25’s third week, the album moved 728,000 units. Billboard reports that 25 jumped to 825,000 units (790,000 from actual album sales).

In just four weeks, 25 has sold 5.98 million copies, making it the best-selling album released since Adele’s 21, which came out in 2011. 25 even passed Taylor Swift’s 1989, which is “only” at 5.57 million copies sold.

Aside from 21, the only other album to sell more copies than 25 since 2008 is Swift’s Fearless, which has sold 7 million copies.

There were no debuts in the full Top 10, although The Voice's Jordan Smith did hit No. 11 with The Complete Season 9 Collection, which moved 48,000 units. Smith's album only sold 8,000 actual copies though.
