It pays to use social media, especially if you already have famous looks. Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner reportedly earn up to $300,000 per Instagram post.
A new report by CR Fashion Book looks at how social media has given models new venues to make money. Frank Spadafora, the CEO of analytics group D’Marie Archive, told the site that Jenner, Delevingne and Hadid can make between $125,000 to $300,000 for just one post on their social media pages.
So, the next time you see any of them post a picture in their pajamas, the brand behind those PJs is probably paying them.
Karlie Kloss, Behati Prinsloo and Miranda Kerr earn between $25,000 and $50,000 for their posts, Spadafora said.
Micki Schneider, a senior booker at Wilhelmina, explained that clients have started to take into account how many followers a model has.
“The more followers a model has, the more they can be appealing to certain clients,” Schneider explained to CR Fashion Book. “And we encourage the girls and are very mindful, as they create their own brands and become more mainstream, to be as authentic as possible.”
Jenner currently has 45.4 million followers on Instagram and currently has an ad just for her bio that promotes the site onepiece.com. Hadid is up to 10.3 million followers while Delevingne is up to 24 million. With a reach like that, it’s no wonder why brands are willing to pay them for something most of us do for free.
