Good news for Kill Bill fans today: Quentin Tarantino is still very much open to the idea of a third film.
In a recent interview with What The Flick, Tarantino discussed the idea of another installment in his action series starring Uma Thurman.
"There definitely is a possibility...stop short of saying a probability," Tarantino said.
The director went on to explain that he put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot, and so he wanted her to have some time for peace. However, he said he'd love to return to the franchise because it's definitely the most heightened and fantastical project he's done, especially compared to his last few films which have become a bit more literary.
"It would be nice to go back to just a visceral world that's not about the words anymore," he said.
If the third movie were to happen, Tarantino also confirmed that there would be a time jump since the end of Kill Bill Vol. 2.
Until then, Kill Bill fans can hopefully look forward to The Whole Bloody Affair, which cuts Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 together into one four hour movie. It was rumored to be hitting limited theaters in 2015, but that never ended up happening, so let's just hope it at least gets a DVD or Blu-ray release sometime soon.
