An 8-year-old girl named Safyre from New York, who has burns on 75 percent of her tiny body, is only asking for Christmas cards this year. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, that’s exactly what she got.

Safyre is under the care of her paternal aunt, Liz Doddler, after losing her father, two brothers and sister in a fire two years ago. Her father was able to save her by shielding his body over hers, but she’s had over 50 surgeries to correct the severe burns she obtained in the fire, even losing her right hand.

This Christmas, Safyre’s only wish is to get Christmas cards to hang on her tree. Doddler told Buzzfeed she told Safyre they probably won’t get enough cards to “fill” up her tree. She recalled telling her, “Hunny, that’s probably not gonna happen. We maybe get 10 cards a year, and the card tree holds 100.”

However, when a request was posted on the Facebook page Safyre Schenectady's Super Survivor, Safyre got more cards than she could have even imagined.

Can someone say GLOWING...Safyre got mail today.
