Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are engaged.
During a performance on Saturday at Miami’s Olympia Theater for Sway, Chmerkovskiy proposed, telling Murgatroyd, “I’m in love with you, and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life.”
Later posting on his Instagram, he captioned, “She said ‘yes.’”
The couple have had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2012, but People reported that a source spoke of the pair, saying “Peta is his girl and he’s never stopped wanting to be around her.”
Sharna Burgess, another DWtS pro, excitedly posted about the news as well saying, “So this just happened!!!! Ahhhhh I’m so excited for my loves!!”
Chmerkovskiy’s brother, Val, also praised the couple, calling Murgatroyd his “sister” on Instagram.
Their proposal was seen by other dancers including Tony Dovolani, Rumer Willis, and Meryl Davis. Murgatroyd is still a dancer for DWtS, but Chmerkovskiy no longer participates on the show after being a judge during season 21.
