Mattel has announced they will be releasing a Barbie based off the likeness of filmmaker Ava DuVernay, which will become available on Monday.

DuVernay took to Twitter on Sunday night to make the announcement, revealing proceeds from the sale of the doll will go to charity.

“Tomorrow this #AvaBarbie goes on sale for Christmas because enough folks asked @Mattel to do so,” she wrote. “Wild + wonderful.” She added, “All my proceeds from #AvaBarbie will be sent from @Mattel to @ColorOfChange + @WitnessOrg. A fun way to support. xo!”

According to Huffington Post, Mattel was originally only going to make one doll based off the Selma director in April, but after a social media campaign gained support, they decided to manufacture the doll for the masses.

"I love that the doll is supposed to have locs like my own,” she told EW at the time.

The initial doll was made as part of the "Sheroes" line, which honored five other women in entertainment like Kristen Chenoweth and Emmy Rossum.
