Since President Barack Obama has plenty of more important things on his mind, he probably isn’t going to rush to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens this weekend. But he hopes to see it... eventually.
During today’s press briefing, White House press secretary Josh Earnest was actually asked if Obama plans on seeing the movie this weekend. Rebecca Nelson of the National Journal tweeted that Earnest said he was “confident that at some point the president will see” the movie.
However, when the President does eventually see The Force Awakens, it probably won’t be at a movie theater, notes EW. Mark Knoller of CBS News notes that it’s up to the MPAA to arrange White House screenings of movies.
When Obama does finally see it, someone will have to ask him if it will go on his list of favorite movies from 2015.
In the meantime, he can go back to worrying about more important issues.
