The woman believed to be behind the wheel of the vehicle that struck dozens of pedestrians walking along the Las Vegas Strip on Sunday evening has made her first court appearance.
ABC News reported that Lakeisha Holloway appeared in front of a judge on Wednesday and heard the charge of murder against her for killing a 32-year-old woman during the incident, which police have described as “intentional.”
In addition to the one fatality, at least 30 others were injured.
As we previously reported, Holloway is accused of purposely driving her car into pedestrians in front of the Paris Hotel & Casino around 6:30 p.m. local time with her 3-year-old daughter in the car.
The 24-year-old woman has also been charged with child abuse, neglect or endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident. The public defenders representing her asked that the case be delayed for 30 days as more evidence is gathered.
Her next appearance is scheduled for Jan. 20.
