Although she likely wrote it before the feud started between her exes Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa this week, Amber Rose’s op/ed about double standards and sexism was published in Time on Thursday.
Appropriately titled “Amber Rose: How I Learned To Stop Caring What People Think,” Rose talked about being judged for doing the same exact things men do. However, she revealed that over the past year she’s learned to not care about it anymore.
In the Time op/ed, Rose wrote about rising above the label of being a stripper – which West called her just this week - writing “Now I sleep like a baby at night.”
“People would actually say things like, ‘Who would ever love you? You were a stripper. Why are you in relationships?’” she wrote. “And I used to feel like I had to explain that maybe it was because I’m a good person.”
Before advising people to stop judging others on preconceived notions, Rose wrote, “What I’ve realized is that, when you care too much, you’re not living at your full potential. When you really stop caring about what people say, that’s when you really start living.”
