Chris Hemsworth has finally spoken out about the rumors concerning his brother, Liam Hemsworth, and Miley Cyrus calling their engagement back on.
"I'm happy if he's happy, whatever he's doing in life," Chris told ET Monday in New York City's Bryant Park, at a celebration gala. "I can't confirm any of that but, you know, he's smart [and] he's happy."
Chris wasn't just at the gala to talk about Liam's relationship. The 32-year-old is also the global ambassador for Tourism Australia's newest campaign, which focuses on the country's world-class aquatic and coastal experiences. Managing director John O'Sullivan assured everyone that Australia is in fact the star of the campaign, but Hemsworth would provide an authentic Australian voice to tell the country's story globally.
“Chris truly embodies the Australian way of life and his love of his home country, with all its natural beauty, makes him an ideal ambassador,” O’Sullivan said in a statement.
It's no surprise that Chris was chosen; back in 2014 he was named People's Sexiest Man Alive when he said he would always rather be home in Australia, where he chose to raise his three kids.
“It wasn’t a hard decision to move back to Australia because this part of the world is such a special place," Hemsworth said this week. "This is the place I want my kids to grow up -- that’s the world I want them to be part of."
It was reported last week that Liam and Miley are engaged again, two years after they called it off.
