Claire Danes has found a way to keep herself busy while not filming Homeland. She’ll star in the off-Broadway production Dry Powder, with 13 Hours star John Krasinski and comedian Hank Azaria.
Krasinski joined the play in October. It was written by Sarah Burgess and will be staged at the Public Theater. Previews start on March 1 and it will only run through to April 24. According to The New York Times, Hamilton’s Thomas Kail will direct.
Kasinski is starring as the managing director of a private equity firm that has a public relations debacle after his boss (Azaria) throws an expensive party and lays off grocery store workers in the same week. Danes will play Krasinski’s rival at the firm and Sanjit De Silva (The Company Men) co-stars as the CEO of a company Krasinski wants to invest in.
Dry Powder won the Laurents/Hatcher Foundation Award, which goes to the best unproduced play by an American playwright this week.
