A week after his death, David Bowie finally earned his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. Blackstar beat out Adele’s 25 for the top spot.

The new album, which was released on Jan. 8, Bowie’s 69th birthday and two days before his death on Jan. 10, moved 181,000 total units. Of that, 174,000 were actual albums sold.

This was Bowie’s best sales week since Nielsen began tracking music sales in 1991, notes Billboard. He hit a previous high with 2013’s The Next Day, which sold 85,000 when it debuted. The Next Day also had Bowie’s previous highest chart position at No. 2.

The hits collection Best of Bowie hit No. 4 this week, while The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars hit No. 21. Best of Bowie was released in 2002 and moved 94,000 units this past week. Its original peak was just No. 70 in 2002.

The last time a single act had two albums in the Top 5 was March 2012, when Adele’s 21 was at No. 1 and her 19 was at No. 4.

Bowie died at 69 on Jan. 10 after an 18-month battle with cancer.
