In the first comments from his family since announcing his death Sunday night, the family said that it is planning a private memorial service for him. They asked that their privacy continue to be respected.
In addition, they added that any concert or other tribute event will not be sponsored or endorsed by the family. However, they still welcome any celebration of his impact on music.
