Jimmy Bain, a bassist for Dio and Rainbow, has passed away at the age of 68.
On Instagram, a member of Wendy Dio’s management posted about his passing. Diana Darville posted a photo of herself with Bain along with the caption, “I am in shock to hear that yet another one of our Rock friends has passed on. RIP Jimmy Bain. You will be missed.”
In addition, Bain’s fellow bandmate and drummer for Dio, Simon Wright, posted on Facebook with the news of his friend’s death.

According to Loudwire, his cause of death is not known at this time. Bain began making music in 1974 for the band Harlot and two years later, he joined the band Rainbow. When he was with Dio, he helped to record seven studio albums.
He continued making music in 2013 when he joined Last In Line, along with fellow Dio bandmates Vinny Appice and Vivian Campbell.
Another message of condolence on Twitter from Doug Aldrich stated, “Jimmy Bain was a sweet soul. God Bless him…Rest now Brother.”
