Ed and Lorraine Warren are back for another terrifying paranormal investigation in the first trailer for The Conjuring 2.

Released via the official Warner Bros. Pictures YouTube account, the new trailer gives us a glimpse into the movie's storyline and provides plenty of footage to give you nightmares all over again, the main set piece involving Janet Hodgson waking up stuck to the ceiling of her bedroom. It retains the same creepy score and visual aesthetic from the 2013 smash hit, so it's looking like this could be a surprisingly solid followup without much of a drop in quality.

Unlike a lot of subpar horror sequels, virtually the entire team behind the original Conjuring will be returning for this installment. That includes director James Wan, screenwriters Carey and Chad Hayes, composer Joseph Bishara and of course stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The only major player not back on board is cinematographer John R. Leonetti, who is being replaced by Don Burgess (Spider-Man, Flight, Source Code).

Not returning are any members of the Perron family from the original film, though. That's because The Conjuring is shaping up to become an anthology series where Ed and Lorraine Warren explore a new case every time. In this instance, the Warrens are headed to England to investigate the real life Enfield haunting, which director James Wan described as one of the most documented paranormal cases in the world.

Although it was initially billed as The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, the studio may be dropping that subtitle, as the trailer simply reads The Conjuring 2. The film stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Simon McBurney, Franka Potente and Frances O'Connor. It opens on June 10.
