With the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Harrison Ford's movies have officially grossed more than those of any other actor.

Ford reclaims the title from Samuel L. Jackson, who was the highest-grossing actor before the release of The Force Awakens, Box Office Mojo stats show. Jackson, however, has starred in significantly more films than Ford: 68 compared to Ford's 41.

Movies starring Ford have grossed a collective $4.69 billion at the U.S. box office. The release of The Force Awakens gave Ford a $764 million boost, allowing him to just barely pass Jackson, whose total is $4.62 billion. Unadjusted for inflation, Ford's most profitable films have been The Force Awakens, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Empire Strikes Back.

Jackson will likely regain his title soon enough though, probably when Avengers: Infinity War is released.

Behind Ford and Jackson, the third highest grossing actor is Tom Hanks at $4.33 billion, followed by Morgan Freeman at $4.31 billion and Eddie Murphy at $3.8 billion. The most prolific actor who makes the list is Robert De Niro with $3.0 billion across 77 pictures.

The Force Awakens is already the highest grossing movie ever released in the U.S., and it's expected to beat Titanic for #2 of all time internationally. It remains up for debate whether it can unseat Avatar for the No. 1 spot.
