Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has seen Captain America: Civil War, and he has nothing but good things to say about Tom Holland's performance as Spider-Man.
In a recent Q&A on his Facebook page, Gunn said that fans won't be disappointed with Holland's take on the classic web-slinger.
"Tom Holland is…off-the-charts awesome," Gunn said. "Truly. Hand to my heart, he’s amazing.”
He had plenty of praise for the movie itself, too, saying that Civil War is one of the best Marvel movies to date.
“It’s one of the best Marvel movies ever, and I can’t believe what a wonderful job [Joe and Anthony Russo] did," he said. "And the cast. Oh my God, they’re so good. So it’s an amazing film and people are going to be really excited to see that come summertime."
19-year-old actor Tom Holland will be making his debut as Spider-Man in Civil War this May. His role isn't expected to be all that big though, as Marvel and Sony made their deal over the rights to the character while the film was still in production. Holland also said in an interview that he has very little idea of what happens in Civil War, implying he isn't in enough scenes to piece it together.
Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6.
