Paramount confirmed this morning that it will release Darren Aronofsky’s next film, which will star Jennifer Lawrence. Another Oscar winner, Javier Bardem, is in talks to join the film.

While the studio would say that it will distribute the film, Paramount didn’t say anything about Bardem’s involvement. Variety first reported that Bardem was in talks.

The movie is about a couple whose relationship is challenged by some unwelcome guests. Aronofsky, who also wrote the film, hopes to get filming started by this spring.

Aronofsky will produce under his Protozoa Pictures banner with Ari Handel and Scott Rudin. It should hit theaters in 2017.

Word about Lawrence and Aronofsky working together first surfaced in October. During a Vogue interview, it was revealed that Lawrence signed on for the film right after Aronofsky read her the script.

Bardem has an Oscar thanks to his supporting role in No Country For Old Men, while Lawrence won hers for Silver Linings Playbook. LAst night, Lawrence won a Golden Globe for her role in Joy.

As for Aronofsky, he was nominated for an Oscar for Black Swan. Paramount also released his previous film, the big budget Noah.
