Looks like Jenna Fischer’s explanation of her love for her The Office co-star John Krasinski is unrequited - or at least, in the actor’s words, “taken out of context.”

As we previously reported, NBC’s You, Me, and The Apocalypse star remarked during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live that she and Krasinski - who played her character’s love interest for the show’s duration - were "genuinely in love" during the series.

Fans swooned over the tidbit about one of TV’s most beloved couples, but Krasinski wasn’t so enthusiastic about his former co-star's remarks. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Krasinski disclosed, “I think that was wildly misquoted or taken out of context."

"I’m sure she was trying to say something nice about how genuine the acting relationship was, of bringing a relationship that became that popular onscreen," he continued. "As far as how she was quoted about saying we were ‘genuinely in love,’ I think that was taken wildly out of context and I feel bad for her.”

Both actors are married, Fischer to writer and director Lee Kirk and Krasinski to actress Emily Blunt.
