Madonna has been going through a custody battle for her son, Rocco, who she shares with ex-husband Guy Ritchie, and she got emotional about it during a show in Mexico City on Wednesday.
As we previously reported, a New York judge ordered Rocco, 15, to return home to his mother after he expressed his desire to stay in London with his father last month. However, the British court disagreed so Rocco stayed in England. Madonna and Ritchie are now gearing up for a custody battle for him.
She is reported to be distraught over this and told the crowd in Mexico City she’s going through a “challenging” time, Billboard reports.
“We all go through challenging times in our life, and that includes me," she said. "I, too, go through challenging times in my life, and right now is one of them.”
Madonna added, “Sometimes I think I can't do a show. I don't have the energy, I don't have the strength. I come out here tonight and I can see your faces, and I look into your eyes and I see so much love and it gives me strength. So thank you. You are rebel hearts. I feel your hearts beating with mine."
