Michael Galeota, an actor who appeared in The Jersey on The Disney Channel, has died. He was only 31 years old.
Galeota went to the hospital last week for abdominal pains, but left on Wednesday and ignored doctor’s advice, reports TMZ. He did not contact anyone over the weekend, so a friend of his went to his home in Glendale, California.
The friend had to climb through a window to get inside. He found Galeota’s body in the living room. TMZ reports that the former actor suffered from high cholesterol, hypertension and an inflammation of the digestive tract.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed to Us Weekly that the actor died.
Galeota has no acting credits after 2004, when the Disney Channel’s The Jersey ended. The series ran from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, he starred in Clubhouse Detectives in 1996 and the first episode of Ally McBeal in 1997. In 1990, he was in two episodes of The Baby-Sitters Club.
