Everyone’s favorite special agent, Tony DiNozzo, is leaving the CBS hit drama NCIS after 13 seasons on the show.

CBS released a statement confirming that Michael Weatherly, who has been on the show since it debuted in 2003, will leave at the end of the current season.

"After 13 years on NCIS, Michael Weatherly is leaving the show at the end of this season," the statement read. "He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as 'Very' Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make 'NCIS' what it is today — the No. 1 drama in the world. We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal."

Weatherly himself also acknowledged the news via Twitter on Tuesday and thanked fans of the show for a “fantastic ride.”

While it is not yet known how Weatherly’s character will exit, many are hoping the DiNozzo will reunite with Ziva, played by actress Cote de Pablo, who left the show in 2013. We know the two are meant to be so maybe they will ride off into the sunset together.
