One of the breakout stars of Fargo season 2 has just landed a major superhero role.

According to Deadline, Rachel Keller has been cast as the female lead of Legion, the upcoming FX TV series set in the X-Men universe. Fargo creator Noah Hawley wrote the pilot and will serve as producer as part of his 3-year overall deal with the network.

The 24-year-old Keller landed her first movie role in 2014 in the comedy Hollidaysburg, but her role as Simone Gerhardt on the second season of Fargo is how most audiences were introduced to the actor.

Legion follows the Marvel comic book character David Haller, mutant son of Charles Xavier. In the comics, the character suffers from dissociative identity disorder, and each of his personalities controls a different superpower. Keller's female lead had been described as a "scrappy, optimistic woman in her 20s."

This is one of two X-Men shows on the horizon, the second being Hellfire on Fox. This Fox series is set in the 1960s and revolves around a special agent who discovers a society of millionaires called The Hellfire Club that's plotting to take over the world. Simon Kinberg and X-Men director Bryan Singer serve as producers.

The next big screen version of the franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse, hits theaters on May 27.
