Pearl Jam has added their names to the growing list of artists that are planning to hit the road this summer for a long tour. The group confirmed that they will be touring this year and will be playing the famous music festival Bonnaroo.
The tour will include playing two nights back to back in Chicago, New York and Boston.
Most ticket sales start on Jan. 29, but fans hoping to go to the Boston or Chicago shows will have to wait for additional on-sale information to be released. The tour kicks off in in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in early April.
Rolling Stone reports that Pearl Jam is planning to donate $3 from every ticket sold to its Vitalogy Foundation, which works in areas of community health, arts and education and social issues.
Despite not having released new music in the past three years, Pearl Jam has continued to tour the world and sell out venues, including several stops in South America last year.
The band is known for their influence in the grunge rock 'n' roll era and for their singles, "Alive," Jeremy" and more recently "Just Breathe."
