Quentin Tarantino only has two movies left before retirement, and one of the ideas he's considering would see his return to the crime genre.

In an interview with So Is It Any Good, Tarantino said that every time he's in Australia, he thinks about a potential movie concept.

"I do have an idea for an Australian film that would take place in the '30s," he said. "It would be like a Bonnie and Clyde-ish kind of story with a couple of outlaws in Australia."

The director did qualify his statement by saying he doesn't know if he will ever execute the idea, but he did say he had been thinking about the project all day prior to this interview.

For now, Tarantino's next goal is to adapt The Hateful Eight into a state play, which he was inspired to do after the live reading of the screenplay went so well. That makes sense considering The Hateful Eight already is basically a play, and Tarantino also plans to write some stage shows and novels after he retires.

The director also recently said that there is still some chance one of his last two films will be Kill Bill Vol. 3, although we probably shouldn't get too excited just yet.

"There definitely is a possibility...stop just short of saying probability," he explained.

The Hateful Eight is now playing in theaters.
