After months of anticipation and swirling rumors, Rihanna’s long-awaited new album, Anti, has finally dropped.
Following an accidental leak on TIDAL’s servers, fans quickly began sharing the tracklist and song clips on the internet, likely prompting the official release of the album. This marks the singer’s eighth studio album and the first since Unapologetic in 2012.
The gap between Unapologetic and Anti is the longest it’s been since the start of her career and was preceded by the release of several singles, including summer’s “B*tch Better Have My Money” and “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney. Though the two singles did not make her latest album, they served to amp up hype once more for the new album.
After the album title and cover art were released in November of 2015, a set date for her album release was not posted; instead, Billboard reported that the Barbados-born pop star wanted to release it as a surprise sometime before January 29, just one day before the album's release.
The album’s release comes just shy of one month before the singer’s Anti World Tour, featuring Travis $cott, The Weeknd, and Big Sean (select European dates).
Rihanna also paired with Samsung to not only promote their Samsung Galaxy but to promote her upcoming album and world tour.
The tracklist for the album is:
- “Consideration (feat. SZA)”
- “James Joint”
- “Kiss It Better”
- “Work (feat. Drake)”
- “Desperado”
- “Woo”
- “Needed Me”
- “Yeah, I Said It”
- “Same Ol’ Mistakes”
- “Never Ending”
- “Love on the Brain”
- “Higher”
- “Close to You”
You can currently stream the album on TIDAL.
