The first Star Wars spinoff is the most anticipated film of 2016, a new survey found.

Fandango polled over a thousand moviegoers during the last few years of December to find out what they're excited for this year, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was #1 on the list. That shouldn't be too surprising considering the popularity of The Force Awakens, although it wasn't a guarantee considering Rogue One is a completely unrelated story. It takes place shortly before the original film and follows the group of rebels who stole the plans to the Death Star, as we previously reported.

Second on the list was Finding Dory, Pixar's latest film and the sequel to the animated classic Finding Nemo. After that was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the untitled fifth Bourne movie, Captain America: Civil War, Star Trek Beyond, Independence Day: Resurgence, X-Men: Apocalypse, Zoolander No. 2 and The Jungle Book.

One element of the list that's notable is that audiences are more excited for Batman v. Superman than Captain America: Civil War, as the DC movie sits two places above the Marvel film. A few big 2016 films are also absent from the top ten like Suicide Squad, Ghostbusters, Deadpool, Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them and Doctor Strange.

Although Ghostbusters didn't make the list, the most anticipated actress of 2016 is Melissa McCarthy for her role in the reboot, while the most anticipated actor was Matt Damon returning as Bourne.
