In her response to the outrage over the lack of diversity among this year’s Oscar nominations, former actress and current Fox News contributor Stacey Nash suggested that there shouldn’t be a Black History Month.

While on Fox & Friends this morning, the Clueless actress said that the outrage is “ludicrous.”

“We have to make up our minds,” she continued. “Either we want to have segregation or integration and if we don’t want segregation, we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET Awards and the Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black. If it were the other way around, we’d be up in arms. It’s a double standard.”

When anchor Steve Doocy asked her if she was really pushing for getting rid of BET, she agreed.

“No, I don’t think so. No. Just like there shouldn’t be a Black History Month,” she said. “You know, we’re Americans. Period. That’s it.”

And then Doocy asked her if there shouldn’t be a Black History Month because there’s no White History Month. “Exactly,” she said.

After her comments lit up Twitter, Dash posted on her blog that she is right. She linked to a comment Morgan Freeman made on 60 Minutes several years ago on Black History Month, about why he thought there shouldn’t be a Black History Month.
