There has been some concern that things are getting off to a bumpy start for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII after the film was delayed a few months. But it looks like the latest version of the script is done, based on a couple of posts on social media.
Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the new movies, posted a photo on Instagram that appears to show the script for Episode VIII. Ridley’s only caption on the photo is “#VIII.”
Today, Jan. 29, Anthony Daniels confirmed on Twitter that he has actually read the script already. Daniels has played C-3PO in all seven Star Wars films and will obviously be back for an eighth and ninth.
In John Boyega, who stars as Finn, is to be believed, production on Episode VIII is only a few weeks away. During a surprise appearance at a screening of The Force Awakens in his native U.K., the actor gave an update on the project, reports Metro.
“The movie is yours now and I really hope you enjoyed it and we are so happy to be starting on Episode Eight in a few weeks in London and it is going to be fun,” he told the audience.
On Jan. 20, Disney announced that Episode VIII will be released on Dec. 15, 2017 instead of May 2017. The film will be written and directed by Johnson.
