Star Wars: The Force Awakens has topped the domestic box office yet again. The Force Awakens made an additional $41 million domestically. This brings the film's total up to $812 million in the U.S.
Leonardo Dicaprio's The Revenant came in second place earning an impressive $38 million. This weekend became a box office race between these two films.
Also released this week of the new horror thriller The Forest from Focus Features/Gramercy Pictures that stars Game of Thrones’ Natalie Dormer. The Forest earned $13 million.
The final test for The Force Awakens was how the film would do in China. This weekend it made $53 million. These new numbers from China will help determine if Force Awakens can pass Avatar for being the all-time earning movie in history. Currently the film has grossed $1.669 billion worldwide and has become the No. 3 highest grossing film. Currently in second place is Titanic and the all time record holder Avatar at $2.78 billion.
