Making a Murderer subject, Steven Avery, has filed an appeal after being convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 25-year-old Teresa Halbach in 2007. His appeal was filed in Madison, Wisconsin on Monday in an appeals court.

Avery, who has new representation in attorney Kathleen Zellner, filed the wide-ranging appeal by himself complete with spelling and grammatical errors.

He’s arguing authorities searched his trailer multiple times with an improper warrant and that a juror was out to get him, bullying the others into voting guilty, The AP reports.

Avery’s new attorney’s name wasn’t on the document, but his signature was. Zellner has said they have new evidence to help exonerate Avery, but they haven't revealed it yet.

In the appeal, Avery wrote evidence Manitowoc authorities found in his home "is clearly 'FRUIT OF THE POISONOUS TREE.'" He also wrote one juror swayed the others "THROUGH DIRECT OR INDIRECT IN FLUENCE” by telling them multiple times he "IS F------ GUILTY."

Although a White House petition to pardon Avery reached enough signatures to elicit a response, the White House said President Obama doesn't have the power to pardon a state crime.
