Traffic surveillance in Canada captured beautiful images of a snowy owl flying above a highway last Sunday.

The owl was spotted flying through the air by Transport Quebec's traffic camera along Montreal's Highway 40.

Quebec's Transport Minister Robert Poëti wrote about rare images captured and posted them on his Facebook page. So far that post has over 16,000 likes and over 19,000 shares.

Montana's Owl Research Institute said that these large birds are "quite mysterious," and that you "never know where they'll be seen next!"

The institute also said to "Consider yourself lucky if you spot one though, because these owls tend to inhabit places where humans don't live."
