This week’s column talks about an assortment of exciting movie genres such a dramatic western, intense mystery and an adventurous drama.

Jane Got A Gun is a western that follows a determined woman who asks for her ex-lover’s help to save her family from a gang intent on killing her. A Bigger Splash details how the vacation of a rock superstar and filmmaker are interrupted by two unexpected guests. Finally, The Huntsman Winter’s War is a fantasy adventure where a pair of evil sisters with incredible powers plan to plummet the land into eternal darkness and how the Huntsman and his lover are determined to stop them.

Each of these three films are brimming with intrigue, mind-blowing action sequences, A-list Hollywood actors and actresses and extraordinary plot devices, all in their joint effort to bring throngs of moviegoers to their local theaters to their opening days and beyond.

The film revolves around Jane Hammond (Portman), who asks her ex-lover, Dan Frost (Edgerton) to help her save her family from a band of men led by Colin McCann (McGregor) from destroying her family. This enthralling Western’s trailer depicts Portman’s character kicking ass and taking names as she confronts her past to protect her future, specifically her young daughter and fugitive husband, Bill (Emmerich). A Bigger Splash is a dramatic crime/mystery flick starring Dakota Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey), Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton and Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl).
