Indie rock 'n' roll band Weezer is reuniting in 2016 and plans on releasing brand new music.
The group started dropping hints about this new stage in their musical evolution by changing all of their social media site. The rumors are true. Weezer is planning on releasing a White Album.
According to a post on their official website, the album will be released on April 1.
"This album was inspired by my experiences hanging around the Westside of Los Angeles, which has been our home since Weezer began," lead guitarist/singer Ruver Cuomo said in a statement. "Hanging out with people in Venice and Santa Monica, the beach, the Hare Krishnas, the Sikh on roller blades with the guitar, girls on Tinder within a 4 mile radius, seeing other bands, etc. I would just tweet out “does anybody wanna hang?” and then I’d get together with people who responded and talk about life. I love California. I wanted the album to have a Beach Boys sort of vibe to make you feel like you were there with us SoCal weirdos even if you’re in Milwaukee in December."
This tittle seems to follow a similar pattern for Weezer, who love to name their albums after colors.
Weezer will also be going on tour in support of their new album. This summer, they will be heading out on tour with Panic! At the Disco and Andrew McMahon, notes Pitchfork. They will be all taking part in the Wilderness for the North American tour.
