It’s been widely reported Kanye West had an angry outburst right before he was set to perform on Saturday Night Live on Feb. 13 and it’s now been confirmed with an audio leak.
In the recording, Kanye West is visibly upset with the set changes NBC staffers made without consulting him first after they had already done rehearsals and finalized it. He somehow managed to get a dig in at Taylor Swift as well.
"Look at that s--t, they took my f--kin' stage off SNL without asking me," he said in a leaked audio obtained by Page Six. "Now I'm bummed.”
He went on to repeat to the SNL staff several times, “Don’t f–k with me” and call Swift a “fake ass.” Their feud over his song “Famous” took place just the day before.
“Are they f—–g crazy?” West continued. “Whoa by 50 percent [I am more influential than] Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, f—–g Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent more influential than any other human being. Don’t f–k with me. Don’t f–k with me. Don’t f–k with me. By 50 percent dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next 1,000 years. Stanley Kubrick, ‘Ye.”
It's rumored showrunner Lorne Michaels had to convince West not to walk out before the live broadcast.
