Demi Lovato appears to take an issue with Taylor Swift donating $250,000 to help Kesha’s legal battle against Dr. Luke and Sony but not publicly speaking out about it.
Swift announced her donation through her rep, and Lovato took a different approach in supporting the “Tik Tok” singer by tweeting words of encouragement about women empowerment.
It then became pretty clear that Lovato wasn’t impressed with Swift’s approach in financially supporting Kesha, tweeting, “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed.”
On Feb. 19, Kesha cried in a New York courtroom when she was denied a request to make music without Dr. Luke, who she has accused of drugging and raping her, and outside of her contract with Sony. She claims Sony won’t promote her music if it isn’t produced by Dr. Luke.
