Aaron Carter is learning the hard way that his fans might not have the same political views as him.
After Carter took to Twitter to express his support for controversial GOP candidate Donald Trump, he received a series of tweets questioning his decision.
“Does America want to have a president who FOLLOWS or someone who leads? I vote For @realdonaldtrump,” Carter wrote in response to Trump’s tweet about self-funding this campaign. He started to defend his tweet almost immediately after he posted it.
"Good thing I live in America and I have the right to my own opinion such as a lot of my NON supporters have for me at times," Carter said. "That’s ok. Losing fans gaining fans all good so what happens when Donald becomes president relax people."
Fans also accused Carter of not supporting the LGBT community because he said he was voting for Trump.
"I have nothing but the upmost love respect and support for the LGBT community AND equal rights for all. Regardless of my political views..." Carter clarified.
This is not the first time Carter has made headlines for his social media presence. The “I Want Candy” singer sent out a series of bizarre tweets comparing himself to Michael Jackson last year.
