Adele might have struggled on the Grammys stage thanks to a glitch, but the singer is having no trouble with sales. In fact, she won the Billboard 200 album chart in the week after the awards, even though she didn’t win anything.
The singer’s third album, 25, moved 151,000 units, according to Nielsen Music and Billboard. Of that total, 125,000 were actual albums sold. (The rest of the number comes from track downloads and streams.) This is 25’s ninth nonconsecutive week at No. 1.
Justin Bieber’s Purpose also climbed up to No. 2, while Rihanna’s ANTI stayed at No. 3.
Country singers Joey + Rory released Hymns, which debuted at No. 4 with 70,000 units (68,000 albums sold).
The Weeknd and Chris Stapleton saw a post-Grammys boost. Taylor Swift’s Album of the Year winner 1989 hit No. 8 this week, climbing up from No. 20. Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, which swept the rap categories, also didn’t earn a Top 10 spot.
