The BRIT Awards are taking place tonight in the U.K. and are already underway. Adele picked up the first award and said she supports Kesha, who is now embroiled in a legal battle with producer Dr. Luke.

Adele won Female Solo Artist at the ceremony, which is taking place at the O2 Arena. After thanking everyone for her win, she let everyone know where she stands on the issue, notes People.

“I'd also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha,” Adele said. She also thanked her “management and my record label for embracing the fact that I'm a woman and being encouraged by it.”

The “Hello” singer is just the latest artist to voice support for Kesha, who has thanked everyone.

Kesha has sued Dr. Luke, claiming that he raped and drugged her when she was 18 and alleges abuse over the past decade. She unsuccessfully filed for a preliminary injunction to be able to record outside her contract with Sony and Dr. Luke. The producer has denied Kesha’s claims and has not faced criminal charges.
