The four members who make up the British indie band Viola Beach and their manager were killed in a car crash while traveling in Sweden on Feb. 13.

BBC News reported that accident occurred early Saturday morning near Stockholm when their rental car drove through a barrier as a drawbridge was opening and plunged into a canal below. Authorities said band members Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin and manager Craig Tarry fell some 80 feet into the water and died.

The Associated Press noted that the band played at a music festival on Friday and were scheduled to open for the group Blossoms at a concert in the British city of Guilford the following day. After the tragic news broke, Blossoms decided to cancel the concert and tweeted, "Absolutely devastated for the loss of Viola Beach and Craig Tarry. Our thoughts are with their friends and families.”

An investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time.
