No stranger to playing rogue law enforcement officials, actor Idris Elba now appears to be taking his turn as a CIA agent in the trailer for his upcoming film Bastille Day.
The movie follows Elba, playing a CIA agent who teams up with a pickpocket (played by Richard Madden) to complete an antiterrorist mission in France.
In the trailer, Madden plays Michael Mason, a pickpocket who is unwittingly framed in a bombing attack. Idris Elba's character Sean Briar, is asked to discreetly catch Mason, leading to a very indiscreet chase scene across rooftops where Elba finally catches and meets Mason. Realizing that Mason was framed and that the actual bomber was an ex-cop, the two set out to find the real culprit and clear Mason's name.
According to The Wrap, Bastille Day is directed by James Watkins and written by Andrew Baldwin. The film stars Charlotte le Bon, Eriq Ebouaney and José Garcia and will premiere on April 22.
