Big Ang gave her final interview to Dr. Mehmet Oz before her death on Feb. 18 at the age of 55, and the television doctor is now weighing in on her passing.
The Mob Wives star sat down with Dr. Oz and told him about her reaction to having stage 4 lung and brain cancer after previously being told she was cancer free. She then passed a few days later.
In an interview with Extra, Dr. Oz said he doesn’t think Big Ang knew she was going to pass away “so soon.” He also said, “I think Big Ang was scared.”
He went on to say an important part of her legacy is showing other people that cigarettes were ultimately the cause of her death.
“She didn’t want anybody to forget the anguish on her face when she acknowledged that cigarettes killed her, stripped her life from her, that she lost decades that she could have spent with people she loved,” he said.
Big Ang also wanted her legacy to be about family and how important they are in times of need. She was well aware that in the “darkest times you appreciate the people that love you the most.”
