CBS's Nancy Drew pilot has found the actor who will play Nancy's dad, Carson Drew. That actor is none other than Emmy and Golden Globe winner Anthony Edwards.

As we previously reported, last month, CBS purchased several pilots, one of which is a modern-day adaptation of the classic Nancy Drew detective novels, entitled Drew. CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller told The Hollywood Reporter the same month that the title character would be non-caucausian. While Nancy herself has not yet been cast, THR reported earlier today that Anthony Edwards has been cast as her father, Carson Drew, who in the original book series is a widowed lawyer.

Edwards has had a long TV career, beginning with his role in NBC's ER, for which he won a Golden Globe. He also appeared in HBO's Temple Grandin (1998), which won a Primetime Emmy.

The series will be executive produced by Grey's Anatomy's Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, as well as Dan Jinks (Pushing Daisies, Milk).
