Flight of the Conchords, the New Zealand music duo made up of Oscar winner Bret McKenzie and actor Jemaine Clement, have announced plans to go out on tour in North America this summer.
Aptly titled the Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords, the tour kicks off on June 11 at the State Theatre in Cleveland and continues through July 27 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Other stops on the tour include Chicago, Washington DC, Vancouver, Phoenix, San Diego, New Orleans, Atlanta and New York.
On July 22, they will perform at the historic Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.
This is the duo’s first tour since 2914’s Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Tour and will feature new material.
The Grammy-winning group is best-known for their self-titled series, which ran from 2007 to 2009. They’ve also recorded three albums, although they haven’t released a new one since 2009’s I Told You I Was Freaky.
Separately, McKenzie won an Oscar for writing “Man or Muppet” from the 2011 movie The Muppets. Clement has been busy as an actor, starring in What We Do In The Shadows, People Places Things and the upcoming The BFG.
