Brace yourselves for more of Disney’s Frozen, because not only is a sequel coming out but it’s also now officially hitting Broadway in spring 2018.
Although a venue, cast or the date has yet to be announced, Disney confirmed Alex Timbers (Peter and the Starcatcher and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) will direct.
As we previously reported, it was unsure how long it would take the production to hit the stage considering Disney’s chairman, Bob Iger, said in the original announcement in 2014, “We’re not demanding speed, we’re demanding excellence.”
The Oscar-winning movie grossed nearly $1.3 billion worldwide after it hit theaters in 2013, and we're still waiting on a sequel.
LA Times reports Disney Theatrical has seen success with Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, which opened in 1997 and was last year’s highest grossing Broadway show, and Aladdin.
