Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is now the talk of Broadway with the smash hit Hamilton, is reportedly in talks to join Emily Blunt in Disney’s new Mary Poppins movie.

Miranda will play lamplighter Jack, a role that will be similar to Dick Van Dyke’s Bert in the 1964 original, reports Variety.

Last week, it was reported that Blunt is in talks to star as the practically perfect in every way nanny created by P.L. Travers.

The new movie will not be a remake of the classic film. Instead, it will be a sequel set in Depression-era London, 20 years after the 1964 movie. It is being directed and produced by Rob Marshall and co-produced by his Into The Woods collaborators John DeLuca and Marc Platt.

In addition to creating and starring in Broadway’s Hamilton, Miranda wrote music for Disney Animation’s Moana. He is also expected to help write new songs for Marry Poppins. Miranda is also a Tony winner for his breakthrough In The Heights.
